John will compete in 2 marathons, 3 10K races and a coast-to-coast bike ride. He aims to complete the challenge within 6 months – and to make sure no-one misses him, he will undertake every challenge as his son’s favourite Marvel comic book superhero.
John is bipolar and support from MIND has helped him to manage his condition. “I want to do my bit to ensure that HEY Mind can continue to provide a high level of support to fellow sufferers.”
John will compete in marathons in Blackpool and Hull; Hull, Leeds and York 10Ks; and then finish off his challenge with a coast-to-coast cycle ride from Hornsea to Southport, with fellow fundraiser, Simon Moreton, pedalling alongside him as Batman. They are aiming to complete the cycle ride in one weekend.
“I intend to finish every race,”John said, “Even if it means crawling over the finishing line.”
