Analogue & IP Systems
Whilst both Analogue and IP CCTV Systems are categorised as providing exactly the same end result, both are different in many aspects of install and site requirements.
Our experienced engineers would survey your site free of charge and discuss with you your needs and expectations, and how you could benefit from having a CCTV system, or whether you just require a digital recorder upgrade.
The experience we have built up over recent years with both IP and Analogue CCTV systems allows us to satisfy all of our customers’ needs from simple four-camera security systems up to 100+ security camera systems.
Analogue CCTV Systems
Digital Video Recorder (DVR) will be the device in which all images and sounds, if required, are recorded on. We use minimum of a terabyte hard drive, even just for a four channel unit.
DVRs are traditionally supplied as four, eight or 16 channel units. 16 channels allowing 16 camera inputs. The whole CCTV system comprises a physical direct connection of either coax or Cat 5 cable and the system will be completely standalone. Images are analogue in appearance rather like your TV images at home before HD was introduced. Images cannot be enhanced during playback or whilst viewing recorded footage. Analogue systems can record in full real time at 25FPS (frames per second). Humans can see only 15FPS.
IP CCTV Systems
Network Video Recorder, more commonly known in the industry as a NVR will be the device in which all images and sound (if required) are recorded on. IP systems use mega pixel or HD 1080P cameras. This type of camera can be likened to your TV HD pictures and provide unrivalled quality against analogue systems. Mega pixel (MP) images can be enhanced during playback or whilst viewing recorded footage. Higher hard drive capacities are required as the NVR will be recording in a higher resolution although real time can still be achieved with the correct set-up and system management. The whole IP system uses structured cabling Cat 5 or 6 and in most cases “site” will require a complete separate network to that which will be used for staff PCs or other. A considerable load, even for a couple of cameras will cause problems on a basic network if not set up correctly.
Regular maintenance and monitoring of your CCTV system through our 24 Hour control room in Hull in conjunction with close communication from our CCTV engineers will enable potential problems to be identified at an early stage so that appropriate action can be taken.
